What is Coaching and Counselling?
Counselling, coaching, and psychotherapy are not easily described in general statements. While counselling is generally for more acute situations, psychotherapy for long-term mental health issues, and coaching for long-term increased life-satisfaction/benefit they all vary depending on the personalities of the therapist/coach and the client. What is the experience like?
Relax and get cozy from the comfort of your home. Your sessions will be held over phone or Zoom. This ensures that you feel comfortable and safe.
Although Kendra offers her experience, knowledge, and wisdom you are in control of your experience. Kendra offers support in the process of healing and self-discovery through many different ways including psycho-education, conversation, experiments, games, movement, stillness, silence, emotional release, and assigned homework. Many tools for integrating this process into your daily life are given. Change requires an active effort on your part. In order to be most successful, you will have to invest time and energy both during your sessions and in your day-to-day life.
Trauma therapy and counselling/psychotherapy, like everything in life, have both potential risks and benefits. Sometimes this work involves recalling and talking about unpleasant events in your life. Because of this, it may involve experiencing uncomfortable feelings including sadness, guilt, anxiety, anger, frustration, disappointment, loneliness, or helplessness. There has been shown to be many benefits to this process, including a significant reduction of feelings of distress/anxiety/depression, more fulfilling relationships, increased satisfaction and happiness, inner-peace, and/or the resolution of specific problems.
